ROBERT STILES FEATURED IN HOTELIE SPRING 2013 MAGAZINE

Robert Stiles was highlighted as a Newsmaker in the latest Hotelie Spring 2013 magazine. He was honored for the prestigious Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the Year Award at January's Americas Lodging Investment Summit, the largest forum for the hotel invest­ment com­mu­nity in the world.

“This is the most pres­ti­gious honor in the hotel invest­ment bank­ing com­mu­nity and is par­tic­u­larly mean­ing­ful to Rob as Jack Shaf­fer was a trea­sured men­tor to him in his early days with Sonnenblick-Goldman Com­pany in Asia and then as a part­ner here in the US,” said Dou­glas Hercher, a part­ner at Robert­Dou­glas and a for­mer part­ner at Sonnenblick-Goldman.  “Like Jack, Rob believes that strong rela­tion­ships are the key to every busi­ness deal  – some­thing that is clearly reflected over the years in his client-centric rather than transaction-focused approach to business.”

Cur­rently based in San Fran­cisco, Rob has been active in the hotel devel­op­ment, finance, and asset sales mar­kets for almost 30 years. He spent the first half of his career in Asia, open­ing new mar­kets and build­ing one of the largest advi­sory firms in the region, and the sec­ond half in Cal­i­for­nia focused on the North Amer­i­can markets.
