Assignment Overview

RobertDouglas has advised AutoCamp in their selection of Whitman Peterson as a strategic capital and growth partner. Whitman Peterson, a real estate private equity company that actively invests in the growth of target sector platforms, led a commitment to invest $115 million to acquire and redevelop properties for AutoCamp's expansion. As part of the transaction, Whitman Peterson has also invested in the AutoCamp operating company.

While a number of private equity funds, institutional investors, and high-net worth groups expressed interest in the programmatic equity investment opportunity, Whitman Peterson was ultimately selected as the best partner to accelerate AutoCamp’s growth throughout the United States.

Project Overview

AutoCamp is an outdoor lifestyle hotel brand featuring accommodations in custom-designed Airstream trailers and luxury tents. In the age of lifestyle and experiential travel, AutoCamp provides an upscale, hassle-free camping experience in the world’s most iconic outdoor destinations. From luxury linens, bedding, and bathrobes to mid-century modern-inspired reception and meeting spaces, AutoCamp has revolutionized alternative lodging by blending the traditional outdoor experience with the service and design of a boutique hotel. 

AutoCamp has received critical acclaim in a variety of major national publications. AutoCamp's portfolio consists of two open properties in Santa Barbara and the Russian River Valley, a Yosemite property that will open in April 2019, and a robust pipeline of future locations nationwide.
